I enjoy building positive, long-term relationships with my patients. It’s a pleasure to help people achieve optimal oral health and a smile that makes them happy. I provide individual dental hygiene care, cleaning teeth and educating my patients. When a person understands why it’s important to keep their mouth healthy, and how to do so, I know they’re going to have a great smile for life.
I’m a busy Mom of two. We enjoy the outdoors, especially camping and cross-country skiing. I also like golfing, coaching soccer, and spending quality time with my family.
I enjoy chatting with and getting to know our patients. It’s important everyone feels at ease during their visits and knows they’re in safe hands. By talking with a patient about what the doctor will be doing, and answering their questions, I help them relax. During a dental procedure, I sit chairside. I support the doctor and at the same time I tell the patient how well things are going. At the end, I make sure our patient is happy with their visit and is smiling.
When I’m not working, I love losing myself in a good book. I also enjoy art, my pets, and travelling.
I love working with a variety of people throughout the day. Everyone has their own concerns and desires for a visit. By asking questions and really listening to a person’s answers, I’m able to make sure their needs are met. I prepare the instruments and operatories and take X-rays and impressions. I also offer chairside assistance during procedures, helping the doctor and the patient. I assist with some of the office administration, too.
I love spending time at home with my husband, working together on our new home. We spend a lot of our time at our cottage, quadding and snowmobiling. I also love to cook and bake.
I love meeting new people and being able to address their concerns and really help them out. I assist the doctor and patients and enjoy the variety of responsibilities I have, from assisting with procedures, to educating patients, and ordering supplies. I think it is wonderful how the doctor & staff interact with the patients, and over the years have got to know the patients and their families personally.
When away from the office, I love spending time with my husband, my two daughters (who are also Dental Assistants), and especially my three beautiful granddaughters. We love to travel, especially to Mexico and love to spend time at our family cabin.
I love interacting with all of our patients, and I love seeing their smiles as they arrive in our office. It is so nice when the patients stop and thank us for providing a positive experience at the end of their appointment. I’m always here to assist, whether I’m helping a patient understand their treatment, handling insurance questions, or finding an appointment time that works with your busy schedule.
Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two boys, as well as our little cat, Finn. We love all kinds of outdoors activities, travelling and Disney!
I enjoy meeting new people, building relationships, and helping each patient achieve a healthy smile. I spend my days working directly with people. I take X-rays, administer local anesthetic, clean teeth, and perform scaling and root planing. A lot of my time is focused on oral hygiene instruction. I help patients understand their unique dental health concerns. Then I give them the tools and knowledge to take control of their smile.
Away from work, I enjoy being with my family, attending my kids’ sporting events and having fun. I also have a home business, Steeped Tea, where I introduce people to a great cup of tea.
Dental Hygienist - Currently on Maternity Leave
I enjoy getting to know the people and families in our community. It’s a pleasure to help my neighbors develop healthy and beautiful smiles. Working closely with each patient, I work to prevent and treat tooth and gum disease. I also offer patient education. There is a close connection between oral and overall health. By teaching patients how to keep their mouth in excellent condition, they not only have a great smile, but a healthier body!
When not at work, you can find me at the gym, or spending time with my husband in the great outdoors. I also believe in good books and bad movies.
Registered Dental Hygienist ( Currently on Maternity Leave)
I enjoy meeting new people and learning about their lives. Our conversations and the stories we share create wonderful bonds. While I’m working with a patient, in addition to providing periodontal therapy, I educate them about their oral health and discuss how they can improve their home oral hygiene routine. I find it very rewarding when a patient comes for a recall visit and I see positive changes.
When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my family. I also enjoy running, curling, golfing, and baking.
Since the first day I started at Springfield Dental, they have welcomed me to be a part of their dental family. I have developed genuine relationships with each of my patients, while helping them improve their oral health. Each patient has unique clinical and personal needs,so I work hard to address both, while encouraging a person to take control of their smile’s health. While I’m caring for a patient, I like to educate them. Teaching someone the right way to keep their mouth healthy and smile looking its best is my passion.
I grew up in Oakbank and attended the Oakbank Schools from Kindergarten to grade 12. In my free time I enjoy yoga, camping, travelling, trying new restaurants and a nice glass of wine.
